How to manage your notification preferences
- Log in to the NHS App.
- Select the Account icon in the top corner.
- Select Settings.
- Select Manage notifications.
- Follow the link to your device settings.
Turning your notifications on or off may take up to 24 hours to take effect.
If you use the app on multiple devices, you'll need to allow notifications on each device.
If you share your device with someone else and your device has notifications on, anyone who uses the NHS App on the device will also receive notifications.
If you do not turn on notifications, we may not send you some of these messages

If you’re a patient at our practice you can now use the new NHS App, a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone or tablet.
You can use the NHS App to check your symptoms and get instant advice, book appointments, order repeat prescriptions, view your GP medical record and more.
If you already use GP on-line services you can continue to use it. You can use the NHS App as well.

From 3rd February 2025, the NHS App will no longer support older operating systems on iPhone and Android;
ios 12 and Android 6 & 7. Patients using the following versions will lose access to the app and will need to use the NHS App via a web browser instead
Who is affected?
- An estimated 6,500 iOS users and 5,500 Android users who only have access to a single device.
- iOS 13 & 14 users can update their phones to iOS 15 to maintain access.
What this means for patients who are affected;
- They can no longer use the NHS App via the mobile app.
- They must log in via a web browser instead.
- In-app notifications have been sent since May 2024 to alert affected users
